Alm. Dr. MAKEWA was one of the members of TIM 100 who had met with president B.J HABIBI at the state palace in Jakarta, who unanimously asked Papua to be independent from 1999-2000.
Alm. BENNY MAKEWA PIGAI, apart from being a Paniai District Government Officer, also teaches at the Zakeus Pakage Enarotali Institute for Social and Pastoral Study (ISSP). The deceased taught and developed Owaada Economics and became a Grassroots Theology Researcher. He opened a grassroots theology discussion (DISTAR) at the ISSP Zakeus Pakage Enarotali College, Paniai Papua.
